Perry Path

Finally, one of the early features of the garden vision is now coming to pass, after 18 years!

A new hiking path, located right below the top parking lot at the garden, has been a dream since God first gave us the property, on IH-10 in 2005. At the time, God showed the layout of the entire site. The Holy Spirit revealed the exact location of the 300′ long cross-shaped garden, “The Empty Cross” sculpture, the massive, “Lion Of Judah” Ten Commandments Monument and a shaded, 1/4-mile long walking trail, right below the top of the 1,930 ft. hill top.

This great new trail is being donated to TCKF by the L.F. and Carla Perry Foundation of Olney, TX, for the enjoyment of garden visitors. Jenschke Construction of Kerrville, who has done most of the heavy construction at the garden, is currently building this new walking trail. Safe access on the steep hillside requires concrete walks and stairs to reach the level, crushed granite, walking path which is halfway of the mountainside.

There are five access points to the new hiking trail. A magnificent set of concrete stairs will connect the top parking lot to the path and then to the parking lot below. The crushed granite path basically runs level, from east to west. It goes from the lion monument in the east, to the northwest side of the garden.

We believe this new walking path with draw thousands of exercise and hiking enthusiasts to the garden. They will enjoy a safe, scenic and shaded place to walk or run, all year. Like the entire 24.5 acre-spiritual park, this new “Perry Path” is absolutely free to the public, thanks to Christians, Mrs. Carla Perry and her family. The final name of the new trail has not yet been decided, but Perry will be in the names

The entire walking path has been surfaced with crushed granite and two sets of concrete steps have been poured.
